On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, the University of Toronto awarded acclaimed Canadian author Lawrence Hill an honorary Doctor of Letters, honoris causa in recognition of his contributions to Canadian literature, in particular through his exploration of race relations and humanitarian concerns.
