Celebration for the 2023 University Professors
Meric Gertler, president of the University of Toronto, received a warm, official welcome as the University’s 16th president, at receptions at U of T Scarborough and U of T Mississauga, on November 14, 2013.
Professor Gertler praised UTSC’s “justly famous expertise in co-op education” and its “distinctive tradition of engagement, listening, and organic development of solutions through truly collaborative relationships” in its surrounding community. At UTM, he celebrated major recent developments, including the launch of the Mississauga Academy of Medicine, the Institute for Management Innovation, and the Centre for South Asian Civilizations.
