A vibrant student blogosphere at U of T

March 2, 2012

The University of Toronto blogosphere is large and lively. For some years, I’ve browsed various of the postings by student, faculty, and staff bloggers. It’s a self-selected group, of course, but does offer an interesting window on ideas and issues, not to mention what appear, at least from their digital trails, some fascinating characters! For interest, Tony Gray and Susanne Miskimmin have compiled a brief list of some of the student blogs that they read from time to time. The obligatory disclaimers follow: No endorsement from them or me implied, and apologies to those not mentioned – this is simply a sampler.

UpbeaT – A St. George student life blog by seven students

UTSC Pulse – A UTSC student blog

A collection of Rotman MBA blogs

The New – The new New College student blog

rezblog – the UTM student and residence life blog

In addition to the student blogs above, I have to flag a new administrative entrant with a great title:  UTM Vice-President and Principal Deep Saini’s new blog Deep Thoughts.

Last, while askastudent isn’t really a blog in the traditional sense, it is certainly a great forum for students in the blog style.

Happy browsing…
