Vandana Shiva – Honorary Degree Ceremony
On Monday, November 12, the University of Toronto conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, upon Vandana Shiva for her outstanding commitment to the empowerment of women in developing countries and support of environmental sustainability.
Honorary degrees are awarded to recognize extraordinary achievement in community, national or international service and to honour individuals whose accomplishments are of such excellence that they provide, through example, inspiration and leadership to the graduates of the University.
