Priorities & Commitments

The University’s strategic priorities and commitments are advancing U of T’s vision and mission to be a catalyst for social well-being, prosperity, and vitality in our communities.

The University of Toronto’s strategic priorities provide a framework around three areas of focus for the U of T community. The three priorities are our commitment to achieving the goals set out in the University’s Towards 2030 plan.

Motivated by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the University of Toronto recognizes the crucial and unique role universities play in helping to meet the global challenges of sustainability.

The Presidential Advisory Committee on Principles to Guide Recognition and Commemoration has submitted its Report. In fulfillment of its mandate, the Advisory Committee offered members of the University community the opportunity to provide input, and has articulated high-level principles to inform decisions on commemoration and naming across our three campuses. The President in turn has issued a Response to the Report, accepting all of its recommendations.
